So far Stormy and Ev’s are LOVING it! They beg me all day to do more school! I love their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and The Peaceful Preschool program has been a great outline to get us started (I would highly recommend it to anyone considering it). Some of my favorite things about it are the book recommendations and printable letters to decorate, if you blindly pick out books at the library you can end up reading your kids a few things you wished you hadn’t, even in the kids section! The only thing I wish was different about this program is that there were MORE things to do, my kids blow through it pretty quick so I’ve struggled to constantly add new things to the weekly plan.

Our trip to the apple orchard was what we chose to do for our first field trip and we totally lucked out with a gorgeous day to go! Stormy and Ev’s picked all kinds of apples off the ground to try, and they were some of the best I’ve tasted! We plan to come back here for another field trip when the trees are in bloom, I can’t wait!

The Great Tree Hunt 2016The Great Tree Hunt 2016The Great Tree Hunt 2016This year we decided to check out a tree farm we’ve never been to and it was so rainy and COLD. We were soaking wet and completely covered in mud!! I didn’t realize how cold it was going to be and how long it would take to get there, so by the time we arrived it was already getting dark and we were definitely not bundled nearly enough! Stormy and Everly were very serious about picking out the right tree, whenever we would ask “this one?”, one of them would always say no not THAT one! We were taking so long that it got too dark and we had to hike back and pick out one that was already cut because we couldn’t see them anymore (I know, totally lame), but we were just thankful to finally get one and get outta there so we could warm up! We got the kids their very first hot chocolate on the way home to celebrate, surprisingly Stormy didn’t like it but now Ev’s is hooked! I’m not sure how someone doesn’t like liquid chocolate, but Justin and I were happy to take over drinking it 😉 We woke up the next day to a gorgeous sunny day, ha! But we had so much fun and made memories that will last our lifetime, and that is definitely worth being a little cold and wet for a few hours. <3

I never want to forget how adorable they looked in these costumes, Stormy would never take his off if it weren’t for the fact that it makes him too hot, he’s known he wanted to be a dinosaur since February! Ev’s was all over the place, she chose about 18 different things, including a mermaid, a knight, and a dragon; she finally settled on being a kitty cat and wearing last years costume again, which made things a lot easier! Halloween day was so dark and rainy that I only managed to get a couple of very low quality semi blurry pics, Justin and I both got home late and had to scramble to get them ready, I never even painted whiskers on Ev’s, and for the first time in as long as I can remember, Justin and I didn’t even dress up! 😯  I guess that’s what happens when Halloween falls a Monday right? Thankfully there’s always next year, I’m hoping to get these guys on board with a family theme, maybe Aladdin? (I got dibs on Aladdin). 😎
