So far Stormy and Ev’s are LOVING it! They beg me all day to do more school! I love their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and The Peaceful Preschool program has been a great outline to get us started (I would highly recommend it to anyone considering it). Some of my favorite things about it are the book recommendations and printable letters to decorate, if you blindly pick out books at the library you can end up reading your kids a few things you wished you hadn’t, even in the kids section! The only thing I wish was different about this program is that there were MORE things to do, my kids blow through it pretty quick so I’ve struggled to constantly add new things to the weekly plan.

Our trip to the apple orchard was what we chose to do for our first field trip and we totally lucked out with a gorgeous day to go! Stormy and Ev’s picked all kinds of apples off the ground to try, and they were some of the best I’ve tasted! We plan to come back here for another field trip when the trees are in bloom, I can’t wait!

They wound up being so excited this year and LOVED all the little kid friendly fireworks we got for them, like snakes and pop-its, it was so fun watching them do sparklers and squeal every time they saw a firework light up in the sky! They even cried a little when we ran out and had to go home 🙁

Some of these photos remind me more of a magic show than the Fourth of July for some reason…I think it may be Stormy’s vest? (another lucky thrift find I’ve been saving, he had a red stripe blazer to match but got too hot 😉 )

I hope you all enjoyed your Fourth!

The minute I saw it ideas started building in my head. I had the hardest time getting her to keep that adorable matching hat on though!! It was a seriously crushing mommy moment for me. That last pic shows just how she felt about it, some days she loves them and some days it’s just not happening. Anyone have any good tricks for getting kids to wear hats? I would love to hear them! 🙂
