Point Defiance Rose Garden: A Day Dressed Up as a Monarch Butterfly

Everly getting her butterfly wings on

She was so excited to get these wings on! Her expression is priceless!

I originally purchased several of these Monarch butterfly costume wings for Stormy and Everly’s camping birthday party in July, but sadly, they were stuffed in a box and never got worn. Not wanting them to go waste, I took them to the Point Defiance Rose Gardens for a picnic and fun photo shoot after a day at the zoo. Stormy decided right away that he wasn’t up for wearing his so I really didn’t get many pictures of him(he has decided he would like bat wings now😂), but Ev’s was in love(clearly) and had so much fun! They played tag and hide and seek the whole time which made it really easy for me to get some fun pictures! …and total bonus, she wants to wear these for her Halloween costume this year too, so that saves me from buying something else!

Snuggle time with my favorite boy! Can you believe Ev’s took this??!

we're so rad

Ha! This is his go to pose these days! We’re so rad🤣

This day was so much fun, I never want to forget their little 5-year-old giggles and screams as they ran through the rows of flowers and bushes, it was the sound of pure childhood bliss and wonder! The weather was perfect, and we spent the entire day together just us. I wish I would’ve got it on video! I could just imagine watching it over and over when I’m  old and grey, I hope these photos will be enough to bring those sounds back❤️
